Greenpop, Reliance Compost, and Sunshine Cinema Get Creative

The Green Zone:

The Green Zone, created by Reliance Compost, Greenpop & the Sunshine Cinema, was a huge success at the Cape Getaway Show this past weekend! With over 75 TreeCo trees and 380 compost bags lining the area, the place was absolutely decked out with sustainable décor. Greenpop and Reliance Compost made sure that any who visited the Green Zone were entertained by a creation station, sack races, a movie theatre inside of our Mercedes-Benz overland truck, carbon footprint calculation stations and a couch made entirely of compost bags. The Getaway Show admitted that had there been a “green” award, then the Green Zone surely would have won it – however, they did win runner up for the most creative area at the festival out of 250 exhibitors! According to Reliance Compost Marketing Manager Mieke van Blommestein, “The Green Village was POPPING, offering fun activities for the entire family. South Africa has such a variety of amazing outdoor and travel experiences to offer and it was great having everything under one roof - very successful event!”

Greenpop & Reliance Launch Compost Creations Competition:

At the Getaway Show, Greenpop and Reliance Compost launched their Reliance Compost Creations Competition, in which participants compete to make the most innovative creation from a Reliance Compost bag, with the goal of winning a FREE week at the Trees for Zambia Festival of Action 2014 - INCLUDING transport from SA to Zambia! People of all ages popped into the Creation Corner at Getaway Show to fashion tote bags, skirts, animals, bikinis and even a wedding dress to enter into the competition. Some of our youngest creators showed off all the fabulous entries in a Reliance Compost Fashion Show for all of those passing through the Green Zone. The competition is off to a great start, and Greenpop looks forward to all the entries we will receive over the next month – all who wish to enter can pick up a compost bag from our offices at 17 Commercial St. Competition ends 11 April.

How To Enter the Compost Creations Competition:
Make something cool and creative with a Reliance bag - get imaginative!

Take a pic (model it if you like)
Tweet your pic to @OrganicReliance or post it on Facebook and tag @Reliance Compost

Reliance will then take your pic and add it for a Photo Album on their facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/RelianceCompost)
Get your friends to visit the album and like your creation.

Winner will be determined as such:
50% of score is judged on creativity and originality
50% of score is judged on amount of likes the pic has in the Reliance Facebook album
Judges decision is final!

Closing date: 11 April 2014 at 12 noon (likes will be counted on pics at this time and that is the number that will be used)
