Western Cape ADventure (WCAD) will once again be staging a 30km Adventure Sprint Race as this year’s Gravity Adventure Festival. The race will be open to solo entrants and teams of two. It will include Trail Running, Mountain Biking, Abseiling and River Tubing combined into a fun and exciting course through which competitors must navigate by map. No Adventure Racing experience is necessary, just an adventurous spirit and lots of determination. This is a brilliant stepping stone for those wanting to ‘try out’ Adventure Racing.

Team format
Solo or teams of two people. Mixed gender teams are encouraged and endorsed as the ‘main’ category but male pairs and female pairs also welcome. We reccomend that only more experienced Adventure Racers enter the solo category.

20%Trail Running
5%River Tubing
Navigation
There are no route markings. Competitors will need to navigate their way from check-point to check-point on the route of their choice using map provided. Navigation will be basic and no experience is necessary. This race is aimed at novice navigators but common logic and good sense of direction helps.
Race duration (expected)
The Adventure Race is expected to take competitors 2.5 – 4.5 hours to complete.

Compulsory: Mountain bike, MTB helmet, trail shoes, backpack
Recommended: Compass, first-aid kit, cell phone, jacket/warm clothes
