RIEBEEK VALLEY OLIVE FESTIVAL 2012
The 11th annual Riebeek Valley Olive Festival took place on 5 and 6 May in the picturesque Riebeek Valley. This annual event is the largest of its kind in southern Africa and showcased the region’s prosperous olive industry, as well as many of the wines from the neighbouring wine farms that were of an extraordinary quality. On offer was a vast selection of treats including olives, olive oils, preserves, tapenades, a whole range of olive-based beauty products, cheeses, nougat and so much more. For anyone who enjoys olives - this was heaven! The live entertainment added to the festivities and overall, the festival was a wonderful day out - for young and old. It's definitely worth diarising this festival on next year's calendar!

ATOMIC JUNKIES 2012
The launch of the Atomic Junkies Easter Adrenalin Sports Fest, which took place over the Easter weekend in Johannesburg, proved to be a great success with close on 6000 people visiting the show over the 4 day period.
Organised by Thebe Exhibitions & Projects in conjunction with XS Promotions, this event incorporated local and international athletes performing death defying stunts inside the main arena, with FMX riders ramping to heights of two story buildings and drivers drifting and spinning their cars in noisy but balletic sequences.
The festival was alive with entertainment, sporting “pimped” cars and audio systems, scuba-diving, mini quad bikes and go-karts, scooter and mini-moto racing and, to crown it all, the experience of a lifetime, suicide rides with professional drifters on the skid-pan outside!
We plan to introduce more international athletes to the arena at Atomic next year, say Thebe Exhibitions MD Carol Weaving, and will expand the extreme sport disciplines to include paragliding, abseiling, wakeboarding, skateboarding, BMX stunts to name but a few! The exhibition component will also double in size offering visitors a product-filled shopping experience for the whole family.
This event is set to become an annual festival and will take place at the Coca-Cola dome over each Easter weekend.
