This year, the longstanding event will see approximately 1 350 passionate fitness and health enthusiasts competing in various swimming, cycling and running challenges. The series of events includes a 1.5km or 3km long swim, duathlon (5km run/20km cycle/2.5km run), biathlon (5km run/20km cycle) and triathlon (800m swim/20km cycle/5km run) where participants can compete individually or as part of a team. Younger kids can compete in the FitKids challenge (1km run, 200m swim, 1km run) or the Run for Fun (1km).
Situated between the rugged Cederberg Mountains and the popular Clanwilliam Dam, the event is ideal for a scenic outdoor getaway where visitors can look forward to a great sporting and festive atmosphere in the heart of Rooibos country.
A percentage of the proceeds raised from entry fees will be donated to CANSA. Rooibos, which is grown only in the Cederberg, has anti-oxidant properties that fight cancer effectively and form part of a healthy lifestyle.
