The Final 32GI TINMAN Triathlon takes place on Sunday the 15th of November 2015 with some of SA's best triathlete's attending. The Final TinMan event makes use of Durban's warm weather and the awesome TinMan race course which goes along Durban's Golden Mile.
From Triathletes-in-the-making, to the serious die-hard kind, the 32GI TINMAN Triathlon is designed for everyone who loves to move. It’s a high-speed, exhilarating race with categories for every one of every fitness level. The first TinMan event kicks off at 7am from the grass Sundeck infront of Suncoast. Competitors from as young as 8 years old can take part in the day’s races – so if you’re a family that loves everything active, this is a perfect way to spend the morning.
On the day, the swimming phase of each race takes place at Suncoast Beach. The cycle leg takes Triathletes onto the cycling circuit around the Durban Country Club and Kings Park swimming pool. And for each run, racers are treated to the panoramic views of the Indian Ocean, all the way down to Blue Lagoon and back to the Suncoast Sundeck.
Glen Gore had this to say about the TinMan Series. " The final TINMAN event is going to be epic. The TINMAN TRI SERIES produces some of the finest head-to-head draft legal racing in South Africa at the moment. We have 10-15 pro men, all chasing hard for a win at each and every race. As far as draft-legal and sprint triathlon events go in South Africa, TINMAN and Durban rule the roost at the moment. Looking forward to going into the hurt box once again come 15th November.”
Donovan Van Gelder has secured his spot on the starting line "I'm very excited to race in the final Tinman of 2015. We are so fortunate in KZN to have had this series for so many years. It gives beginners a chance to get into the sport over manageable distances, while the more serious guys get a chance to test themselves in competition on a regular basis. I have watched youngsters develop their speed and skills in this series and go on to great things. On the 15th of November I'll be doing my best for one more win before these kids start pushing the old dogs like myself and Glen Gore back to fight for the ballies honours."
"Super excited for the finial Tin man event on the 15th. The event always draws a group of great athletes to race over a super competitive course that favors everyone, fast and flat with epic warm water and great sea conditions and is exciting as the course allows for spectators to be part of the event the whole time. It's been a awesome series and looking forward to racing in what will be a super tough finial with the guys looking for the overall series placing as well" Said local top triathlete Brad venter
