Scooba Doo Dive Centre, in partnership with Ocean Comocean, Reef Divers and Silver Lakes Scuba Diving Centre, are hosting a dive-a-thon, to raise funds for:
Handicapped Scuba Association South Africa (H.S.A. SA) – a non-profit organisation that trains disabled people, on how to scuba dive. NPC number: 2014/027833/08
This is how it works:
There have to be at least one person in the water at all times – for the duration of the dive-a-thon.
People can book their one hour slot in the pool and choose any hour between Friday 12:00 – Sunday 15:00, to do a dive. They can also book more than one slot.
A small donation of R150 will entitle you to an hour time slot in the pool, including gear and air refill.
This ticket will also give you free entrance to the pool party which will be held on the Saturday night from 18:00-00:00.
Underwater games will be played and some of the disabled divers will also be joining us – participating in the dive-a-thon and doing their part to contribute, as well as show that life does not end when becoming disabled.
Demo gear will be available.
There will be a Rescue diver or higher qualified, in the pool at all times, to ensure the safety of everyone.
So, what if you don’t have the time to join us in person and do your slot, but want to contribute?
Well, you can sponsor your R150, and we will find a diver to do your slot of your behalf.
If you did not book a slot, but want to attend the pool party – the entry fee will be R100 p/p. Children under the age of 12, are free.
Some of the proceeds of this weekend, will be used to train and qualify disabled people, on how to scuba dive and a portion of the money will be used to cover some of the costs of the next Scuba diving trip.
We would like to ask all our dive friends to come and support us in this cause. Bring your friends and family too! Everyone is welcome.
This will also be a great opportunity for people, who never dived before and who wants to “taste” what scuba diving, is like.
