After a successful event in 2012, Red Bull Lion Heart returns to Cape Town’s famous Lion’s Head on the 9th of November 2013.
Red Bull Lion Heart was created last year by trail running extraordinaire Ryan Sandes in his ‘back yard’ to celebrate the rare opportunities Cape Town has to offer trail runners.
The course is simple and grueling - Up and Down Lions Head. This year, after an all new qualifier time trial route in the morning, the top 40 that make it through will shoot it out in a knockout format – that very same afternoon.
150 runners took to Lion’s Head in 2012 and it was AJ Calitz and Carla Germishuys van Huysteen who were victorious in the end.
This year there are 200 entries available and trail runners eager to take part will have to motivate why they should be chosen to compete by explaining why they have a Lion Heart. Entries to the race are now open at www.redbulllionheart.co.za
