There is something missing from SA’s music calendar and we’ve found it. Please welcome to Africa’s highest altitude music festival - Afriski Winter Fest! If you’ve ever dreamed of snowboarding or skiing down a snowy mountain and into an epic music festival featuring some of SA’s hottest artists, then your dreams have come true.
The event runs from Thursday 27th August 2015 until Sunday 30th August. The music festival will include top bands and DJ’s from around South Africa and will start from Thursday night. Friday night will have some entertainment also but the main day will be Saturday 29th August with all bands and DJ’s performing during the day and night.
Be blown away by electrifying bands and sublime DJ’s throughout the festival weekend. These include radio hits Iscream & The Chocolate Stix and The Kiffness (DJ Set), with Cape Town trio Chris Taylor, Jak Skandi and Viktoria kicking off on the decks. Rising Johannesburg bands The Motherland and The Sextons will entertain with their unique sounds while DJ’s “Way Back When”, Mehow and Black Sparrow will round off the weekend’s entertainment.
Snowboarding and Skiing will be available every day for beginners, intermediate and experts, with loads of “fun stuff” activities planned including ‘bumboarding’, tubing, paintball and Saturday’s “pond skimming” competition. All of this in the snow and in the sun!
