Africa’s most thrilling music and adventure festival is only a few short months away and the anticipation is electric! Upping the ante this year, festival organisers Seed Experiences have confirmed the legendary Mango Groove to headline this year’s carnival!
This multi-platinum-selling iconic band continues to embody the biodiversity of Africa through their original, uplifting sound. Their unique, fresh blend of South African Marabi, Kwela and Pop influences, together with the voice and presence of Claire Johnston and the evocative penny whistle melodies of Mduduzi Magwaza, have captivated audiences around the world for decades and are now coming to Zimbabwe to ring in the New Year!
Heating up the line-up are one of SA’s most successful electronic acts, GoodLuck, who are best known for their hit “Taking it Easy”, with over one million Youtube views! Hot off their year of touring Europe and Africa they’ll create an unbelievable music experience with their slinky electro swing!
Originating from the beautiful setting of our festival, Victoria Falls, Mokoomba have conquered Europe with their wildly energetic shows fusing ethno-jazz, traditional Tonga rhythms, Sahara blues, and salsa. This blend of local Tonga and global influences will no doubt create that truly African experience our fans have come to expect.
To round up our first artist announcement we’re also adding a couple of titans of the decks into the mix. First up is Hidden Culture founder, Neverland organiser and ZiFM DJ, the all-round music pioneer Jason Le Roux. With a disregard for genres and a penchant for Afrocentric elements, Zyon Black will bring his unique brand of bass music to the festival. Winner of the 2013 DJ Idols competition, Bhana, who has now solidified his place as one of Zimbabwe’s top DJ’s will also be spinning the decks. Lastly DJ Rax who has been collaborating with major African artists & playing at some of the country’s biggest events joins this electric lineup.
Now in its fourth year, here’s what Jameson and Seed Experiences has in store for you:
29 December 2015:
The famous train party: Take a vintage steam train journey through the Victoria Falls National Park to a secret location deep in the African bush. With Sub-Saharan Africa DJ’s pumping top tunes through the classic carriages, you’ll be in full party mood when you disembark at the secret stage set up under the African skies. After selling out in record time last year, the organisers have made the exciting decision to run multiple trips to and from the secret venue, increasing the number of party-goers able to revel in this truly unique experience.
30 December 2015:
Your festival ticket will act as key while you are left free to wander through the streets of Vic Falls as the town lights up with wonderful events hosted by the local backpackers, lodges and bars. On the evening of 29th and 30th there will be parties in town at multiple venues with free entrance for festival ticket holders. Shuttles will ferry fans to and from the party venues to specific hotels and drop-off points.
31 December 2015:
Prepare for an unparalleled New Year’s Eve experience as over 6,000 revellers, top bands, DJ’s from all over Africa, stilt walkers, fire dancers countdown to midnight.
