Durban Marina
The Durban International Boat & Lifestyle Show is a must see for all Durbanites and visitors who enjoy our incredible balmy weather and laid-back lifestyle.
“Everything from one-man dinghies to island hopping luxury catamarans and power boats will be on exhibition along with marine accessories and fishing gear,” promises show organizer, Barry Meehan. “Sailing schools; sailing and boating magazines will also feature strongly, as well as sailing and adventure books for your leisure reading. The show will be complemented by a huge lifestyle section featuring rugged off road vehicles, caravans, trailers and much more.”
For more than just boating enthusiasts, the Show is an ideal day out with loads of activities for all ages, including the kids. There is a sit-down food court, plus a new onsite beer garden where you can relax and take in the passing activity in the harbor. Visitors can also look forward to spot prizes and hosts of show giveaways.
Plentiful parking is available at the Esplanade Garage, (across Margaret Mngadi Avenue/the Esplanade, opposite the show entrance) or at Wilsons Wharf under supervision of the NSRI. There are free shuttle busses to transport patrons from Wilson’s Wharf to the Show and back, or else you can catch a harbour ferry between Wilsons Wharf and the show.
Tickets are R50 for adults and R30 for kids over 12 and senior citizens. Kids under 12 get in free when accompanied by an adult. Tickets are available at the entrance to the show. It’s time to start a new life-on the water. Durban Marina, Friday 18 to Sunday 20 July, 9:30am to 5pm.
