I was anxious when I opened the much-anticipated email from the organisers. Congratulations Mr. D. Curtis, your entry for the 2012 Dakar has been accepted. My dream of taking part in the biggest off-road race in the world was to become a reality. I was on the road to the famed Dakar Rally.

Kinetic Adventure Bon Accord Dam 2011
The 5th and final Kinetic Adventure Race took place last Sunday at Bon Accord Dam just outside PTA. Here is the +/-25km race breakdown, Trekking(run) 25%, Cycling 65%, Kayaking 10% that meant a 7 km running and 16 km cycling and 2 km kayaking and then an inflatable obstacle course to test the team skills. Well done Heidi & Stephan for yet another well organized event and well mapped out course as all who participated had smiles on there faces when they crossed the finish line and said they would return again next year. DIN will see everyone next year at Avianto in Muldersdrift on SUNDAY 19 FEBRUARY 2012.

DirtMax final 2011
This was the last race for this year. Points were held through the year for the top 10 participants in each age category, those participants received there trophies and all went down in a good spirit. The next race will be on the 4th of February 2012. See you all there.
