Drakensberg
X–BERG CHALLENGE 2014 – PARAGLIDER vs. SPEED WING vs. RUNNER vs. CYCLIST
The challenge is to fly, run, cycle a preset race across a pre-selected route in the Drakensberg, where the length my differ from race to race but be longer than 180 km and finish as quickly as possible travelling only by paraglider, speed wing, by foot or bicycle (either you are carrying “IT” or “ IT” is carrying you ). After starting teams will travel past pre-determined turn points defined by the Race Committee. The Athlete who reaches goal first is the winner of the race.

Registration – 15 March 2014 (Saturday)– 2pm-5pm at the “Cook House”
Briefing - 15 March 2014 (Saturday) – 6pm-7pm at the “Cook House” in the pm
Start – 16 March 2014 (Sunday) - 9am outside the “Cook House” (www.cookhouse.co.za)
Race End – 22 March 2014 (Saturday) – 12pm with dinner at 8pm in Underberg for the prize giving at the country club/ or to be announced.
4 day X-Berg Mini Challenge: 92,2 km
Start – 19 March 2014 (Wednesday) - 10am at turn point TP4 : BREAKFAST STREAM – 29° 3’36.53″S- 29°23’50.90″E – Ditto but 1.5 km cylinder i.e. in the car park of Monks cowl Visitors center
Registration – 19 March 2014 (Wednesday)– 8am in the car park as above
Briefing – 19 March 2014 (Wednesday)– 8am in the car park as above
Race End – 22 March 2014 (Saturday) – 12pm with dinner at 8pm in Underberg for the prize giving at the country club/ or to be announced.
Race finish: A team is seen as having completed the race as soon as the Athlete has reached the finish
