Festive Vibe Awaits at the Western Cape’s Biggest Multisport Festival
Words: Lauren Wileman
The annual Freshpak Fitness Festival is just around the corner and takes place on Saturday, 5 October 2013 in Clanwilliam.
This year, the festival celebrates 27 years of testing the abilities of both rookies and pro’s and will see more than 1000 passionate fitness enthusiasts descending on Rooibos country to take part in the various swimming, cycling and running events. Apart from the fitness challenges, the event also creates a perfect opportunity for a weekend getaway in this beautiful part of the country.
The Western Cape's biggest multisport festival will offer fitness challenges for everyone, from kids and teens to adults. On the day, contestants can participate in a variety of events including a 3km or 1.5km long swim, a Duathlon (5km run, 20km cycle, 2.5km run), Biathlon (5km run, 20km cycle) and Triathlon (800m swim, 20km cycle, 5km run). These are all open to individual participants or teams. The Fitness Challenge for teens consists of a 2.5km run, 450m swim and 1km run whereas the younger fitness fanatics can participate in the FitKids (1km run, 200m swim, 1 km run).
Perfect for families, friends, team mates and training partners, a thrilling festive vibe awaits in the heart of the scenic Cederberg.
