Pure Adventures team; Mike de Haast and Adrian Saffy have officially added a new element to the ‘Skyrun’ family! The NEW 42km Skyrun Marathon has launched, where athletes now get to enjoy the serenity of Balloch while taking part in a marked route event.

Ever been to Wartrail Country, sat beside a fire sharing race stories, and slept at the foot of the Balloch caves whilst the starry studded night sky watches over you? Well here’s your chance to experience not only the beauty of this stunning land, but to immerse yourself in the trails it provides.
Whether you’re a second, a supporter to the other Skyrun events or even just looking to develop your training into possibly taking part in the 65km event in the future, the 42km event is just for you! The Skyrun Marathon is a great stepping stone for those wanting to experience the thrills of mountain running. “It’s an event where athletes have the ability to enjoy and test the nature of a Skyrun event, slowly moving up to possibly completing the infamous 100km event” states De Haast.
The controlled and supported Skyrun Marathon kicks off at 04h00 on the 22 November 2015; where the route is marked, and there are three water points along route. Entrant have 7 hours to complete the 42km event, enough time to race and enjoy the scenery and beauty of our beloved country. According to de Haast “the runners will be kept off the high peaks and mountains.”
Due to 2015 marking as the launch of the Skyrun 42km Marathon event, entries are limited to the first 100, so get online and enter before you miss out on this awesome opportunity!
