Adventure Racing
This adventure will cover 120 km and the top teams are expected to finish the course in 12 hours, with the last teams coming in at 24 hours. All teams should be able to finish before 13h00 on Sunday afternoon. Approximate percentage per discipline: 60% mountain biking, 25% trekking, 15% kayaking. The route scouted so far comprises off 75km cycle, 28km on foot and 17km on the kayak.

The Quantum Leap is a 250-300 km unsupported adventure race. The race includes 25 km of rafting in Grade 3+ rapids. Mixed teams of four to compete.

The 4th Leg of the 2012 Leg of the 2012 WCAD Series took place in and around the Palmiet River region, Kleinmond, on the 28 July 2012. 32 teams entered the 60km ‘Short Course’ and 21 teams signed up for the 100km ‘Full course’. The weather conditions were perfect for racing and the heavy rains in lead up to the event meant that river levels were ideal for white water rafting.

People could collect maps and race information from 6pm on the Friday evening. Most of the the ‘long course’ competitors showed their obvious superfluous experience and took advantage of collecting maps as soon as possible to give themselves more time to plan their route.
